Battleborn Taken King Guide
@#$%# Jumping Puzzle
After leaving Golgorth's cavern, there is a Calcified Fragment if you turn left at the intersection, then take your next left. You will be in a small corridor with a ledge above you. The fragment is on that ledge.
Otherwise go to the right and basically take every opening that is a hallway rather than an obvious dead end. You'll end up in a large open area at the end of a ledge. To your left there will be a glowy...thing. Now what you want to do next is to ask who on the fireteam is not reading this guide. Ask them to go stand where the glowy thing is.
Serves them right. Make sure you laugh a lot as they go flying to the opposite wall then fall to their death.
As I said, Guardians are about peace and light.
So if you were paying attention, you saw that what came out from the wall and threw your 'friend' 1000 yards looked like....well...I guess could say...oh screw it
It's a giant penis. Welcome to the Penis Puzzle.
Hint: If you're a Hunter with Bones of Ao, put them on now.
Hint: If you're a Hunter with Boner of Ao, you're in the wrong place, the porn taping is down the hall on the right.
Now if you look directly underneath you, there's a ledge. The last Calcified Fragment is on the right hand side. Go ahead and drop down. Ok, now that you slid off, try again. This will happen a lot, but you won't really understand what's happening until you successfully land. So go ahead, I'll wait.
zzzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzzz
Sorry, caught a quick nap there. Ok, now that you've landed successfully. Let's take a quick look at our surroundings. Hopefully by now you've noticed that the wall slants. What you should look closely at is where the wall meets the ledge. It's not a corner, it's a curve. This means if you slide along the wall at all, most likely your downward velocity will turn into horizontal velocity and launch you right off the ledge.
I'll give it to Oryx, this was pretty clever. If you've played other games with jumping at all, you've been trained to aim where the ledge meets the wall. That will get you killed here. Instead set your aim point to the edge of the ledge.
Once you get your Calcified Fragment, turn around. Your next ledge is in front of you and a bit below. Then jump to the ledge above you that is very short so be careful.
Wait for the penis to retract, then go to the other side. There's a small protrusion that makes itself down the wall that prevents you from seeing your next jump. Jump straight up and you should see your next target in front of you. Do a sprint jump over the protrusion and you should make it. After the next penis in front of you pulls back, sprint along the rest of the ledge jumping over gaps until you reach a plate.
Don't worry about the plate yet.
Instead we're going to get the hidden chest in the area.
Q: Nope! Why am I killing myself for more shards?
A: It's a chest that has a chance to drop an exotic.
Q: A good chance?
A: No
If you turn towards the chasm, there's a slanted pillar in front of you. If you look closely there are two ledges on that pillar. You want to jump to the top one.
Q: I missed the jump and it respawned me back in the beginning. Is there a checkpoint?
A: Unfortunately no, but your teammates can resurrect you.
Q: My teammate didn't resurrect me, wtf?
A: That was the guy we tricked into touching the light at the beginning of this guide....
Turn around and pull out your ghost, you should see an invisible platform in front of you. Jump to it and work your way to the end. Considerate Guardians usually stand on this to keep it lit up until the rest of the team arrives, but we proved that we aren't that guy at the beginning of this section. So pull out your ghost and light up the next invisible ledge to jump to.
Now turn back to that slanted pillar. There is another ledge to jump to above you. It's very very small, so only one Guardian at a time. Once up there turn back to the far wall (the one without penises) and the ledge you want is above you. There is an archway over the platform that you can hit your head on when you jump, so aim for the right hand side.
Again, you need your ghost to see your next platform. Once you're on it though, it can be confusing where to go next. Turn around and face the non-penis wall again, up above you is a hole you can jump into. In there is a chest that might grant you an exotic. But there's another reason to come up here, and it involves the 2nd half of the jumping puzzle. In that you can skip it. Because screw penises.
I might want to reword that.
The Shortcut
If you are a Hunter with Bones of Ao, or a Warlock, you're pretty much set if you put your agility all the way up. Go back onto that last platform before jumping into the hole and look towards the penis wall. From the plate below you, look up and too the right. There are two spars coming out from the wall across from you, that's where you're going. Sprint and jump for it (saying a quick prayer before hand). Hunters without Bones have no chance here, so if you don't have them, skip down below to doing this for real. Floating is pretty easy for Warlocks, they usually hum a little song while doing so.
Titans though....this is a tough jump. Not only do you have to get full agility, but you need at least 2 weapons equipped to get you extra agility. Raid weapons all have that perk. Then comes the timing of the jump. When you do your first jump, wait about half a second before hitting your double jump. Your aim has to be almost perfect, you probably won't get it the first try.
Once across, simply look to your right for a platform above you and go there. From there, sprint straight ahead and jump for the far platform and you're done. If you made that long jump, you can make this one.
Feel free to mock your other teammates who did't take the shortcut, or take a quick nap as they traverse the long way across.
The Long Way
OK, either you didn't have Bones, or enough agility weapons to make it across. Maybe you feel like slumming it with the common people. That's admirable. Stupid, but admirable.
Drop down to that first plate you originally skipped, a bridge will light up.
Please tell me you don't need me to tell you that to keep the bridge up you have to stay on the plate.
So basically there are 3 of these to get to the next area, so find 2 other people willing to go the long way. If no one volunteers just wait, they can't get through the door without you.
Once you make it all the way across, do the wait and sprint along the platforms until you reach the end, then zigzag upwards to the platforms until you can reach the platform where all the Guardians who took the shortcut are patiently waiting for you.
I'm sorry I didn't give a jump by jump description there, but you're going up instead of down so the jumping is a lot easier, and it's boring. So just get yourself to the point where you can take the shortcut ok?
The Final Jumps
When the door finally opens, you'll get your final clue that Oryx isn't about visitors. It's just a single pillar with rock outcroppings on the edges of the room. Basically the way up is to jump on a rock on the wall, then jump to the pillar, then back to the wall, then back to the pillar. The final clue about Oryx not liking visitors isn't the vertical climbing, its the fact that he apparently oiled the rocks and its really easy to slide off.
The swear word thesaurus will come in very handy here.
Once everyone is up top, it's time to take out Oryx's Daughters
